Congratulations on the new blog. This is our opportunity to tell the public our side. Too often the media portrays the police as the bad guy, which leads to the anti-police sentiment and distrust by the general public of our officers. We are the good guys. In any organization there are a few who fall by the wayside but most officers are real policemen, who care for the job, the public and are honest. The media is so powerful that whatever they print or air is considered gospel by the public. The public needs to know that in many instances, the media airs or publishes unsupported facts because they have to meet a deadline. They need to check their facts. Through this blog, we at least now have a chance to rebut what they say.
