On 22 Jan 08, 17th District GANG Officers VO and GOMEZ made a traffic stop of a vehicle at the above location. The driver did not have a driver's license and was placed under arrest. A custodial search of the vehicle revealed a backpack on the front seat containing bundles of money. The driver denied any knowledge of the money and the vehicle was taken into the 17th District where a drug sniffing dog alerted to the money as drug proceeds. The dog also alerted on the vehicle itself. Assisted by Ofc. KACZYNSKI, TUCKER, KADUS, BECKER and SGT KAVANAGH, a thorough search of the bed of the pickup revealed a home made pallet in the rear. Closer inspection and disassembly of the pallet revealed it was being used to hide packages of powdered cocaine. On 11JAN07 at 3730 W. Foster Ave, 17th Distict Tac Officers MELOSCIA, MARTIN and FOSS were on patrol and observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Upon stopping the vehicle and approaching the vehicle, the Officers observed the vehicle to have a peeled steering column. Believing the vehicle to be stolen they ordered the driver out and did a pat down search finding a small pill bottle containing a clear liquid. The driver was questioned about the liquid and was quick to volunteer that is wasn't a steroid by a home made muscle enhancing compound. Ofc SANCHEZ, LOPEZ and SGT GEORGE responded to assist, and several containers of the liquid were found in the vehicle. Closer inspection found the clear liquid to have a metallic odor consistent with GHB, a date rape liquid. Offender was processed for PCS and a later lab test came back positive for a psychoactive compound which is a precursor to GHB and a Class X controlled substance.
